Isn't a sofa supposed to be comfy on its own :)

Two, but they don't stay there much. We use them and they get put other places…floor, chairs etc.

I have four main matching pillows which are covered in fabrics to match my side chair and bench in my sitting room. The couch is small red check, and my side chair is dark blue denim fabric. The bench is done in a wide red gingham. I then have a primitive flag pillow in the center of the couch and two old blue ticking stripe pillows to finish. I love the look, and I simply remove the pillows when I get comfy on my couch and when friends come over. That is just the way I am. I think four or 5 pillows are perfect. Anymore would be too many. The ticking stripe pillows I have a tiny, so they just add charm to the couch.

The number of pillows is a personal touch - in other words - how ever many you want is okay. The pillows add a "flair" to the piece they are placed on - so if you have a very plain or large piece of furniture and want to add some design and color - go wild! If your furniture is very bold in print or style on its own - less is best. But the bottom line is this - add your own flair based on what makes the piece "pop" for you. Enjoy!!
